The 2026 preseason schedule for Detroit City FC has been announced, with the team beginning preparations in the Detroit area before heading to Florida for a series of matches. Players reported on Friday, January 23, for an initial week of training at home.
The club will travel to Sarasota, Florida starting February 2. Three games are scheduled during their camp: against USL-Championship newcomer Sporting Jacksonville at IMG Academy on Wednesday, February 4; against MLS-side FC Cincinnati in Clearwater on Saturday, February 7; and versus USL-League-One-side FC Naples in Sarasota on Wednesday, February 11.
After returning from Florida, Detroit City FC will face Oakland University in Auburn Hills on Wednesday, February 18. The team then plays MLS-Next-Pro-side Toronto FC II on Saturday, February 21. The preseason concludes with a match against Western Michigan University at Wayne State University’s campus on February 28.
A final friendly is set against USL-League-One-side Forward Madison at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo on March 7. This game serves as an early opportunity for both teams to scout each other ahead of their meeting in the USL Prinx Cup scheduled for May 16.
