On March 24, 2025, Tlaib highlighted a legal challenge against the Trump administration’s executive order aimed at dismantling the Department of Education. She expressed support for a coalition comprising teachers, school districts, and unions that filed a lawsuit to counter this move. In her tweet, she stated: “This is how we fight back. Our access to education is critical. A coalition of teachers, school districts, and unions just filed a lawsuit to stop Trump’s illegal executive order to dismantle the Department of Education. Litigation is resistance. We’ll see him in court.”

Later on March 25, 2025, Tlaib addressed concerns over water rate increases by The Great Lakes Water Authority. She condemned these hikes as they would lead to more families experiencing water shutoffs and emphasized that access to water should be considered a fundamental human right: “The Great Lakes Water Authority voting to increase water rates is shameful. It will mean more families facing water shutoffs, melting snow, and using rainwater to shower and cook. Our policy has to meet our principles—water is a human right.”
