Tariffs are affecting small businesses across the United States, causing uncertainty, rising costs, and cancellations. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is actively working to address these challenges.
A special briefing on tariff policy updates and the Chamber’s advocacy efforts will take place on Friday, May 9 at 11:30 A.M. This includes a recent letter to the administration requesting tariff exemptions for small businesses.
During the live broadcast, small businesses can submit questions about tariffs to be answered by the Chamber’s policy experts. Topics include current tariffs, exemptions, future developments, and business impacts. Speakers will include Neil Bradley, Executive Vice President and Chief Policy Officer of the U.S. Chamber, and John Murphy, Senior Vice President and Head of International.
Suzanne P. Clark, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce stated, “We have heard from a historic number of small businesses who have made it clear: they need immediate relief from tariffs.” She added that while new trade agreements are being negotiated to benefit U.S. companies and workers, “these deals take time,” leaving many businesses unable to wait for negotiations to conclude.
