A variety of grant programs are available in August to support small businesses across different sectors. These grants aim to help entrepreneurs expand, innovate, and pursue sustainability efforts within their local communities.

One notable initiative is the Intuit QuickBooks and Mailchimp Small Business Hero Program. This year-long program highlights entrepreneurs who demonstrate “courage, perseverance, and integrity,” according to organizers. Each quarter, three businesses are selected to receive a $20,000 grant along with resources intended to boost their business presence. The application deadline for this program is August 14, 2025.

Another opportunity is the Alibaba CoCreate Pitch, which targets product-driven startups globally. Entrepreneurs can submit a video pitch via TikTok or Instagram or apply online for a chance to win part of a $1 million fund. The top ten finalists will each receive $40,000, while the first-place winner gets $200,000. In addition to financial awards, participants gain access to global manufacturers and investors through Alibaba.com’s sourcing network. Applications close on August 15, 2025.

For those in the professional hair care industry, the Amika Rooted In Growth Grant provides four grants of $50,000 each as well as four months of mentorship from industry leaders. Eligible applicants must be majority-owned by underrepresented founders and operate in hair care with plans for professional distribution channels. Founders must also commit to travel and mentorship requirements extending into spring 2026. The application deadline is August 22, 2025.

The Skip $10,000 Summer Grants 3 offers funding specifically for U.S.-based entrepreneurs who are members of Skip Plus. Over $1 million will be distributed this year through $10,000 grants awarded to eligible applicants aged 18 or older regardless of business size or stage. Applications are limited and must be submitted by August 27, 2025 at 4:00 p.m. ET.

Women and nonbinary entrepreneurs can apply for the Hey Helen Grant which provides an unrestricted $5,000 award for mission-driven businesses that are fully women-owned and generate between $25,000 and $1 million in annual revenue with a U.S.-based bank account. A second grant of $1,000 may be given if more than 1,000 qualified applications are received. Applications close on August 29, 2025.

These grant programs offer various opportunities for small business owners seeking financial support during August.
